Course Titles and Summaries
A Study of God’s Creation (Filled with Purpose, Direction, and Consequence).
Un Estudio de la Creación De Dios Spanish Version
This is a biblically-based study of creation for the first nine chapters of Genesis and key scriptures in other Bible books that pertain to our created universe, which includes the heavens, the earth, and all living things. The course compares the biblical creation worldview with the naturalistic and evolutionary worldview that dominates today’s cultures. It also examines popular school subjects with respect to each world view and provides encouragement to believers to hold to a biblical worldview. It does not shy away from the effects of these two world views on history, social studies, and the sciences. It encourages observing, discovering, and learning science, but from a biblical creation view.
This course is especially oriented to students (about 13 years or older), teachers, and pastors in developing regions who have great difficulty getting Christian materials because of their cost or availability. The course is downloadable without cost to anyone. Each lesson takes about 1-2 hours. There are 27 lessons, not including the Overview and Basic Principles. You need a Bible to take the course.

The course is comprised of 12 lessons that that teach practical observation of the heavens from a Biblical view. The course is authored by Roland and Linda Beard and is copyright protected. CHRISTWORKS, as an organization, has permission to use the course to train others and to assist disadvantaged groups with observing the heavens from a Biblical world view. It is available for non-commercial use.
It is our sincere desire for users to learn observing skills to see the beauty and majesty of the created heavens, because they point to their creator. If you are curious about the heavens, want to learn to observe with basic instruments, and love God or are curious to get to know Him through what he has made, this is a course for you. We have taken it to other countries and cultures successfully. While the material can be reviewed and mastered without this prerequisite, it can be difficult if the user has no familiarity with astronomy tools, the sky, or the scriptures (relative to creation and the heavens). It is oriented to children that are 13 years or older.
Teaching Students to Observe from a Biblical View
A two-part presentation at the National Conference for the Institute of Foundational Learning (Philippines) is titled, “Observing the Heavens and the Earth from a Biblical View”. The first part of the presentation addresses observing the heavens and provides an introduction to AOBV (Astronomical Observing from a Biblical View), which is a downloadable course from this CHRISTWORKS MINISTRIES site (see above). Topics in this presentation include the definition and disciplines of observing God’s created heavens, examples, and helpful links and references. The second part, on observing the earth, will be posted shortly. View Presentation
Disaster Preparedness From a Biblical View (DPBV)
This file section is being developed for believing families and individuals so they may be better equipped to assist their neighbor in the event of a catastrophe. IT IS NOT YET READY TO BE PUBLISHED.
The course is actually a practical extension of “loving your neighbor”. We have learned from other assistance projects in response to disaster, local catastrophes, and emergencies that many believing families in developed nations are poorly prepared for disaster themselves and even less prepared to assist their neighbor. As a home-based ministry, we see a real need for believers to be better prepared at home for themselves but also prepared to assist their neighbors when emergencies arise. The Biblical basis for this kind of preparedness is strong. One need to no further than the story of Joseph, the parable of the Good Samaritan, and the believers responses to situations in Acts to see that God intended us to look out for the interests of others in times of need. When done by faith in the name of Jesus Christ, it provides evident token of the love of God to believers and unbelievers alike who are in need.
