Stormy Night Conjunction

We had delightful day in fellowship together that was interspersed with worship. Occasionally we would look outside to see if there might be a break in the clouds moving across the San Joaquin Valley. Just after sunset patches of clear sky were appearing. At 6 my friend hollered that Jupiter was directly over the moon. So we grabbed a binoculars and enjoyed the relatively close “meeting” of the two bodies: the brightest “wandering” star and the ruler of the night. It was a perfect vertical positioning as we watched the clouds roll past the scene. We could see nothing over half the time but I remembered several scenes of the tracks of cloud edges moving around the moon and Jupiter. I chose one to record, where a band of very dark clouds was moving across the moon.

Neither one of us take the sky scenes for granted. We had a good time giving thanks to the Lord for the work of His hands. It was an excellent evening to give thanks to the Creator of it all…
