Reflecting the Sun

Church Under the Skies?  Creation teaches because the Creator’s signature is upon it. Whether we see the oceans, the lands, or the heavens. In this instance, I was studying the moon. More particularly, one crater had my attention. Light play near lunar dawn made Crater Moretus stand out. Yet, it and any other feature on the moon have no light of  their own; they only reflect light. 20150823-Moretus

Reflecting the Son. The clouds rolled in after an hour or so, so the next level of detail could not be studied and recorded, but the lesson was clear to me as I recorded Moretus as far as I could: believers in the Lord Jesus Christ can only do one thing: reflect the Son. We have no worthwhile light of our own. The older I get, the more it is apparent. For this reason, He does not help us in our own way. Rather, He redeems us from the center of our being, calling us to a different way, which is His way. As we cooperate and yield, we have opportunity to reflect His light. If we resist, we are left with our own signature, which does not amount to anything eternal.

Hope for the Lost. Feel unqualified? Have no hope or what hope you had has dried up? I am here to say, you are in good position to receive the Son. Calling upon and trusting in Him can only be made from the position of knowing you cannot attain things yourself, much less a living relationship with God. While this little lesson is primarily for believers, the line to cross into Sonship is close to the humble unbeliever. Just call on the Lord. Want Him more than your own way. Then begin the same process I have described: yield to Him, and you, too, will begin to reflect Him, just like the moon reflects the true source of its light.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.    Matthew 5:16
