The tenor of the scriptures about the heavens is unmistakably clear: He ALONE stretched out the heavens. The sketch below of NGC 246 includes one of several scriptures that emphasize this point.
It is certainly a beautiful object to observe with a astro-video camera. This gentle swath of green is unique. But others are unique, too. Galaxies differ from galaxies. The ‘clouds’ of deep space flame with reds and pinks, but also blues and greens. Short-lived comets dance around for brief encounters in unique orbits. Planets differ from planets. Moons around the same planets differ again. The list is endless—as fathomable as the wisdom of our God, who ALONE stretched out the heavens. He did so with deliberation, by his word, quickly, and with a system of laws and and a body of substances. That is my God, and certainly not a wimpy one that does cosmic experiments over billions of supposed years of pain, agony, and death….working from dust to microbes to microbiologists. So it is no surprise that He can keep an eye on me or anyone at any time…know the inclination of their hearts before their hearts were beating. He ALONE can do this. Yet, He is approachable, not far off, and inclined to save those who call on Him.
It is a good day to give thanks. He is able to keep us.
