The ministry site has a new post with an oil painting of the crater Goldschmidt. The title is appropriate (“Overcoming Trouble”) in view of the difficulty encountered during the observation period. Here in Cabuyao in the Philippines we continue to be busy as we are training teachers and pastors how to observe the heavens from a Biblical view. As we tell them, the approach can be an inspiration for children to learn the disciplines of observing but also learn that the universe around them is not an accident. A couple pictures below show a couple of snaps from our first training session. This time we had over 40 teachers and pastors that used little refractor kits and binoculars. Along with some staff that we had previously trained, we took 3 days and 2 observing periods to teach them observing disciplines, equipment disciplines and the Biblical worldview of the heavens. They get pretty excited. By the end of the sessions we have to stop them from working the exercises because they get pretty involved in the work. It has been a wonderful time with our new friends.
