Gazing at a galaxy is a distinct privilege. It is one thing to see a picture but entirely another to see one for yourself. One (The Andromeda Galaxy) you can see with your eyes but most take a telescope, and sometimes a very big one. How many stars? As few as thousands to as many as a thousand trillion. God is pretty emphatic: he made them (4th day of creation), he placed them in those “stretched out” heavens, and he even named them. Here is one city of stars that was a pleasure to see and record with a friend’s telescope and astro-video camera. But don’t try to think about the numbers too much. The brain really cannot comprehend them. The “little one” and a “little sister” very near to it were studied and recorded one night in 2009. The larger one is a beautiful barred spiral. It was a good night to give thanks in 2009 but it still is, in view of the One made these cities of stars.
