There is something mesmerizing about watching a moon in hot months when there is no wind but there is lots of haze and humidity. When I watch a setting crescent moon under those conditions near the Blue Ridge Mountains, it appears yellow-orange. In this case, we had 2 days of solid cloud cover but the southwest skies opened up for about an hour — enough time to sketch the setting crescent. The observation reminded me of God’s mercy and lovingkindness that is expressed in Psalm 136. A couple of scriptures are quoted from the Psalm in the sketch; the complete story is on our site (www.christworksministries.org).
