Worship

20140518-rb-worshipChurch was nice, but not enough worship for my soul. So I took 40 minutes this Spring afternoon and sang to Him…just me, a guitar, the trees, and the frogs. My soul was nourished.

My question, which I ask when I have opportunity to encourage and exhort, do you worship yourself? So many do not. Three or four songs and choruses once a week is pretty lame for worship.

Have a place alone where your heart is lifted to Him. It’s my practice. I do it some every day. Then when you are with others or lead worship, you know and have tasted of adoration to Him without any other interference. The person that can do this alone can do it anywhere, because God is the same, and so is the hunger in the believer’s soul. Try it.

If I was king for a day, worship leaders would have to have a practice or worship themselves. Otherwise, what they are doing something in front of others has no relationship to a private life practice. It does not take an instrument, but if you play one, then use it. It does not take a beautiful voice, but if you have a voice at all, use it. Most of all, let your heart lift Him up. If you know how to do this in truth and in Spirit, you can lead people or not, but it will be from the heart and effective. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is waiting for those who will do so.
