HELPFUL LINKS TO ORGANIZATIONS AND RESOURCES THAT HAVE HELPED US
Organizations…
Part of our fruitfulness in getting resources developed and to people who need them. We use resources from like-minded bible-based ministries. In truth, CHRISTWORKS is a tiny all-volunteer organization, but we have been blessed in our association with people from several specific ministries. We use their materials, expertise, or are acquainted with specific staff members. Many of these ministries we recommend have answered questions for us, referred us to other sound ministries, or have physically assisted us in some fashion. Some do not even know how much they or their materials have helped us. We know enough about them, however, that we can recommend them to you. The common thread among those listed is that they hold the Bible to be true in all respects. Each one has also stood the test of time in their own ministry functions.
This international ministry, which is education oriented, has offices in several countries. When you link to their site, it automatically directs you to the closest office. Each site has the same resources and search tool. Their search window and tool is available to anyone. For questions about our material, we recommend this site for more in depth treatment. For our primary biblical creation resource (Second Edition), the [research notes] in the text can be used in the research window at this site for expanded reading on the subject being discussed. We have used CMI media resources and recommend them. A few of the staff members helped us with reviews, inputs on certain topics and media for which we are grateful. If you like periodicals, this ministry publishes the “Creation Magazine” that is an excellent ongoing resource for creation related topics. We have subscribed to it for years and often give away older copies. We support this ministry.
ICR, located in Dallas, Texas is a biblical creation oriented ministry. It has excellent media on creation topics. They also have a research arm that accomplishes creation-related research. When we wrote our resources, this ministry’s resources were the second most used. They also have a museum in Dallas, Texas that we have visited a couple times. They also produce a monthly magazine that is free titled “Acts and Facts” that we recommend. We support this ministry.
All Nations International is based in Prescott Valley, Arizona. They have a long history of helps-related functions. Their mission orientation is refreshing and we have occasionally joined them in mission work in Africa and the United States. Their Executive Director, who is an author herself, has assisted us with publishing resources and does support work on the CHRISTWORKS MINISTRIES website. We know their staff as friends and recommend the ministry and their resources.
Helpful books and resources that we use more often than others:
SUBJECT AREA: BIBLICAL CREATION
At the end of our resources that are downloaded for free, readers can find a list of recommended books in the Bibliography that we have used often and regularly recommend to others.
Most of the biblical creation references we use the most are available at the CMI and ICR bookstores. Others are available at Answers in Genesis (answersingenesis.org) and that site also has links to the Ark Encounter and Museum.
There are several apologetics-related ministries, whose media or reports we periodically check, that we can recommend. They include the Biblical Science Institute (Dr. Jason Lisle), and the Genesis Apologetics.
SUBJECT AREA: OBSERVING THE HEAVENS
The first three organizations we list above have good resources and media regarding the heavens. However, practical observing instruction is generally not available that has suited us. Local astronomy clubs are good sources for use of equipment, but the vast majority are evolution-oriented in their belief system.
We use a few books from bible-believing authors as background information when we train others to observe the night skies with Astronomical Observing from a Biblical View (AOBV). Those authors are Dr. Jason Lisle are Dr. Danny Faulkner. There are others who are good from CMI.
For star maps and planispheres, we consistently use products from David Chandler Company (davidchandler.com) but there are several other companies with good products. For telescopes, we have used Celestron, Orion, Meade, and StellarVue products, but there are several other companies that have excellent products as well. There is an addendum in AOBV that gives our general recommendations for types of equipment that are useful for beginners. We include tips on types of equipment to avoid as well because they are harder to operate for those new to observing the night skies.
