The Quest for Unreachable Peace

Wouldn’t it be nice if all war was just history, like a museum. Is that possible? No. The only solution to the turbulence and evil in man’s heart, or a nation’s heart, a region’s heart, is that Christ be Lord. He alone promises a peace, even in a turbulent world, that no man or worldly authority can give. And, once He gives it, which is a little portion of His Spirit, it cannot be taken away.

There is nothing wrong with being a peacemaker or being part of a process and actions that lend themselves to increase stability and peace, but believers must realize that true peace in this fallen world is not achievable without a change from within man’s heart. For this reason He came, lived, died, and was resurrected. We can place our trust in Christ, turn from our own ways, and seek Him and His righteousness. That turning by faith changes everything, enabling us to live with His peace – even in a fallen and troubled world.

John 16:33   “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

John 14:27  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
