Honor to Warriors of Another Kind

Honor to Warriors of Another Kind.

When she was found pregnant out of violence, she made the hard decision to keep the child. Not all around her were happy and professionals suggested she terminate the child’s life. She knew the One that created her, and that knowledge strongly influenced her decision. Keeping the child would change her life forever, but it would preserve a soul from death. She raised the child with the help of a small core of people who assisted. There are many like her and like them. She became a warrior in the Lord’s hand, defending the helpless. Further, she grew in grace with her Savior. She is a warrior due honor with a platoon of helpers that will join her. There are others like her who will also be honored.

Little people in another place discovered there were many widows in their area, and most of them were in financial straits or were still coping with grief. One of those had endured widowhood herself. She began to reach out as a matter of faith in her God who had walked with her through deep grief. Her effort birthed a little movement in a little town region to have the widows come together and be ministered to. There was no payment for the service and no way the widows would be able to return the kindness. Year after year the gathering occurred. This little lady will be honored, having cared for the least. She is a warrior of another kind. There are others like her. They will be honored.

A man loved the outdoors. He became acquainted with the Creator after years of stumbling around. Through every day circumstances and real places of experience, he developed a love for his God. It went deep. He began to share the kingdom of God, and his wife supported his effort with a whole heart. Now he endures much pain and suffering, but his pen remains alive, delivering encouragement to others in places he can no longer reach because his physical body is failing. Few know him, but God does. He is a warrior with battle scars, and will be honored. His wife will be honored with him, too, for she is a warrior.

An old man leaned back in his chair as he quoted me Scripture. The visit with him was sweet. His work to share and encourage others was a long time ago, but the gleam of God’s peace is still in his eyes. He has probably forgotten all those he touched, and few people today remember his toil to speak of the love of God. He is a warrior, and his weakened frame will soon pass away. He will be honored.

The little girl is friendly but there is more to her than natural friendliness. She loves the One who made her and listens to His voice. Sometimes those of her age have sought her, because she listens. Some threaten to end their lives. Some are distressed. She listens then prays for them. Very few know of her, but she is a warrior and honor awaits her.

Another little one was abandoned, left to fend for herself. She could not keep things from happening to her but she remained soft in Spirit, crying out to God. She was retrieved when someone noticed her and her siblings in a very rough place. With real damage done to all of them, their hearts are being mended. The unknown staff worker who found them and the small group of  people who participated in rescuing them are warriors. They go behind enemy lines and ransom back those who need rescuing. They do all of this in the name of Jesus. These are warriors that most of the world will never know. They will be honored.

Warriors of the Lord come in all types, sizes, backgrounds, and cultures. Most will never be known and many have paid a high price for their decisions to defend life, honor the least, and share God’s lovingkindness and Kingdom in various ways. These stories above are real examples and there are many others. Some warriors have already lost their lives. Their stories are also preserved.

Honor awaits those who love Him and permit Him to work in their circumstances. Many of these will be first before the King, because He remembers. Always. In the meantime, honor the least, for much work is accomplished by such as these.

And those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor

1 Corinthians 12:23

For whoever will save his life will lose it, but whoever loses His life for my sake will save it.

Luke 9:24
