Higher and Deeper. Note 5 Faylene’s story…
The plaque hung on the wall in my bedroom, in my college dorm room, and in the living room of every house I subsequently called home for the next 30 years.
During a very difficult time when I needed to slim down to just what would fit in a van, I prayed about moving the plaque that had been with me for so long…the one that brought me comfort…the one that showed the face of Jesus holding a lamb. I finally came to a place of peace in my heart that, even though I might not any longer be able to display the plaque, I still held in my heart the One it portrayed. The engraved words would still be true, even if I couldn’t see it on my wall.
In this time of unusual uncertainty and concern, I asked the Lord to please give me something special to read today. My regular daily reading of the Word began with John 14. I wept as I read the words that had been engraved on my plaque many years ago – “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Comfort and peace returned.
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14: 27. NKJV
