From the director to readers that use this site.
We have a bit of a news update and a few questions.
News Items.
We should be re-arranging some of the menus on the website to both simplify and categorize some of the content, especially the downloadable resources. So, if you check the site periodically, you may see some changes in the next month or two.
We are also developing a new series of booklets that are based on needs among young believers, especially those in our mission field. Those booklets are designed to give young believers some guidance and help about their commitment to Christ and how it can grow. We will cover some very practical topics in the same series to include relationships, finances, training/education, job concerns. The Bible actually has much to say about such matters, but many in our audiences do not usually get that kind of orientation for their faith. It will take a few months to get things ready, but we hope to make this resource a free downloadable file by early 2027. Some of the material has been shared with audiences and small meetings on previous trips. It confirmed the need for this new series. Please pray for us in regard to this development, which takes many decisions and several hundred hours of writing and editing.
We had previously announced the 3rd edition of the biblical creation resource for pastors and church leaders that is being used in the Philippines and a few other Asian countries. The printed Spanish edition will be published in the US in a couple months, and the English version is already available. We hope that a Tagalog version will be available in the Philippines for our next trip. All the language versions will be available in a couple months as a free downloadable PDF file from this site. We hope some other Asian translations will be available as a free downloadable file late this year or early 2027.
The free app for Apple or Android phones of the second edition of the biblical creation resource continues to be downloaded. We do not know who gets it, but the statistics show the downloads are taking place. This is the 60-lesson course version that we recommend for students or those unfamiliar with the God of the Bible who created all things. the app contains both English and Spanish versions. We keep printed copies on hand to conduct training and acquaint churches or ministries in the US with the subject.
Preliminary coordination for our next mission trip to the Philippines has begun. It appears we will go to at least three locations teaching biblical creation, having some meetings with young people, and renewing friendships with our loved ones. We do not have dates for the trip as yet but would appreciate prayer from readers and supporters as we go down the planning path.
Some Questions.
- We keep track of some general statistics to see how the site is being used, but we get very little feedback. If you use the site or the resources, it would be helpful to get your feedback, if you have some.
- We do have a subscribe button, but it is rarely used. In today’s culture, many people check sites but do not sign up, which seems to be happening to this site as well. If you are a subscriber, do you really need notifications from us, or would you rather check the site yourself?
- We regularly send our reports to a couple churches, the governing board, and a few friends. It is possible to send those to other interested parties rather than use a subscription service. Any opinions out there from readers? If we stop the subscription service, all we will need is a name and email sent to us that requests reports. We would be glad to send them. Usually, we do two or three per year. The reports are straightforward. We don’t have lists and send constant emails or letters asking for money. If people want to help us they do, but we don’t hammer folks with solicitations.
Are any readers connected with Christian education that might be interested in training and equipment to observe the heavens? We have training and equipment sets that could help schools, home school support groups in the US. We have done this for years overseas. We have a downloadable guide (AOBV) and occasionally train groups when we can.
Work continues. We remain all-volunteer with a skeleton staff of two and a board of three. There is plenty of work to do.
For anyone wishing to send comments, you can use the contact-us form on this site, or you can send us a letter (CHRISTWORKS MINISTRIES, Attention: Director, 624 Miller School Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903)
Thank you for reading.
