The picture below says it all, because this one or ones like it are found in Cambodia, Philippines, and the United States on various pages of science and history books for little ones through high school. The right hand figure is a man. It is a sketch that is not bad. The one on the left is a chimp in some books or an ape in others or some sort of moron stage of man, depending on which book you look at. The images in between are fictitious. The line and story that is implied is plain: we come from pond scum that self-organizes, gets complex on its own, and eventually produces the modern human. It is the dominant world view and it is false.
In short, this picture requires certain things that are not plainly explained. First, non-life turns to life on its own (that is called abiogenesis). Second, information self-gathers, organizes, and becomes complex by itself. Third, lots of time is required to help the small chance of any of this. Fourth, the fossil record allegedly is evidence. Fifth, life can start anywhere because we are not unique.
So, let us go down the list: First, non-life does not turn into life on its own. Second, information does not self gather and become complex on its own. Third, only naturalism and evolution demand the extended eons for all this to occur, but the forces working against it dominate. Therefore, it cannot statistically happen. Fourth, the fossil record does not show transitional life, which is why the mad scurry to find it. Fifth, life did not start anywhere. It started here, on a planet designed and created to be inhabited (Isaiah 45:18, in addition to Genesis). To corroborate, do the numbers with the numbers of galaxies and potential planets…we should be crawling with aliens and none can be found. Want more explanation: go to creation.com or icr.org or other organizations like it that are true to the Bible and healthily apply science to this fundamental starting point.
God is clear in Genesis: man is special. He created them male and female, defined the only healthy covenant among their “kind” (marriage), and gave them work to do on His created planet. The entrance of sin and death marred the situation permanently, which is the reason He sent his Son to make “purification for sins” so we can reach to Him and find Him.
Because God is involved, the biblical world view is disdained, hated, and refused consideration. With this reasoning, the world wide flood in Genesis is denied and given no credence in history, geology, or the fossil record. The human being is denigrated. He is simply the most advanced animal. Yet, the same areas of study and research have plausible evidence that fits much better in a biblical framework and world view. In addition, the biblical world view also solves relationship issues (what is good and what is not, which self injures), the reason why bad things happen, and why the human condition (including genetic trends) show long-term decline.
We still need the solution from the One in whom Hebrews (a book in the New Testament part of the Bible) so succinctly states:
“…but in these last days He has spoken to us by His son whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he also created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.” (ESV)
God, contrary to both an evolutionary view and unbelief, is reachable and cares for each soul, giving opportunity to reach to him. (Acts 17:26-27)
