Higher and Deeper, Note 1

With events swirling around us and our hands to tasks, we laid down to rest and talk to our Lord for a moment before sleep. Our question to Him was, “What would you like us to do?” The answer was immediate. “Write.”

Part of our response is to present a series of notes. This is the first, and it is during a tumultuous time around us. There is plenty of opportunity to be immobilized by the cares of this world or the deceitfulness of riches. The explanation from Jesus about Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:22 tells us that such things choke the word of the Kingdom in a person so that it is unfruitful.

As we shared together today, Faylene recalled a conversation with the Holy Spirit and was given words, which have since become a song:

I am higher than the mountain. I am deeper than the sea. I am wider than the ocean, so keep your eyes on Me. Then the mountain doesn’t seem so high. The sea is not as deep. The ocean is not too wide to cross, if you keep your eyes on Me.

Want to be fruitful? Let the word of God be preeminent over the cares and riches of this world.
