Christmas and Creation

There was a point in eternity when the Majesty on high spoke. The universe in its vast array came into being (Genesis 1), not from the things we see but from the command of His voice (Hebrews 11:3).

The season of Christmas, which is celebrated in most of the world, is here. It bears thinking about in a big picture way. The wisdom of God made us so well that we could independently choose Him or ignore Him. Therein lies the problem, because each of us chooses his own way. Even at the beginning, however, He made a plan to provide complete and total forgiveness for our wayward ways if we would only repent and call on Him. It is no wonder, therefore, that the announcement of His birth within the very universe He created, in that little field among lowly shepherds, was accompanied by angels singing and declaring the arrival of Jesus Christ, the Good News. It was the time He chose, where the humble march toward the cross would begin that would provide us purification for sins.

The drawing below was inspired from this big creation picture just before Christmas in 2011. Our precious Lord is not just the reason for the season, He is the reason we can lift our hands and hearts to Him and be freed from the sins that break us—anytime, anywhere, and in any circumstance.
